About UK Coach Training

We were established in lockdown to solve a problem that no book could answer.

OUR STORY

When the world went remote in 2021, leaders everywhere faced a challenge nobody had prepared them for. How do you build trust with people you cannot see? How do you maintain productivity, cohesion and culture when your team is a grid of faces on a screen?

Kaidi Bowen knew the answer was coaching. Not because she had read about it. Because she had lived the problem herself.

OUR FOUNDERS STORY

As a bank manager at Santander, Kaidi was an award-winning leader. Her team hit their targets, their performance was exceptional and the results spoke for themselves.

Then the FSA removed performance targets across the banking sector. Almost overnight, the metrics that had driven her team disappeared. Productivity collapsed. Trust disintegrated. And Kaidi found herself doing what so many managers do under pressure. Micro managing, trying to control outcomes she could no longer measure, and watching the confidence drain from a team that had previously been thriving.

“Coaching brought back trust, empowerment and innovation. It taught me to actively listen. It changed our trajectory from struggling to the top in the country.”

That experience did not just transform her team. It transformed her understanding of what leadership really means. And it became the foundation of everything UK Coach Training is built on.

When lockdown arrived and leaders across the country faced the same crisis of trust and connection that Kaidi had once navigated, she knew exactly what they needed. She established UK Coach Training to spread the word and help.

The moment that changed everything.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

"We believe coaching is not a soft skill. It is the most powerful leadership tool available."

Every organisation we have worked with has the same thing in common. The people they need to build a stronger, more innovative and more resilient organisation are already there. They just need leaders who know how to bring the best out of them.

When a manager learns to lead through coaching, the ripple effect moves through their entire team. Empowerment replaces dependency. Innovation replaces compliance. Trust replaces control. And the manager finally has the space to focus on strategy rather than firefighting.

That is the transformation we are here to create. In every manager, in every organisation, in every sector we work with.

Kaidi Bowen CPCC PCC

Founder & Executive Leadership Coach

Kaidi has spent over 20 years leading teams, most of that in banking and hospitality, and knows first-hand what it is like to lead under pressure, navigate complex organisations, and be responsible for the performance and wellbeing of others. Her coaching journey began in 2010 when she completed ILM coaching training whilst still in her banking career. It changed the way she led, the way she listened, and ultimately the direction of her life. Today she holds ICF Professional Certified Coach credentials with over 2,500 coaching hours, and works as an ICF Mentor and Supervisor, supporting not just leaders but coaches too. Through UK Coach Training, she designs and delivers coaching skills programmes for mid to senior leaders in organisations who want to lead differently. Not tick-box training. Real, practical coaching skills that change how people show up at work

Director of Education

Emily is a commercial and strategic talent and development leader who brings something rare to our programmes she helps create.  She is doing the job your managers are trying to get better at, right now, inside a fast-moving organisation. As Head of Learning and Development, Emily understands the real pressures that sit behind every brief we receive. The competing priorities, the limited time, the need for training that actually transfers into daily leadership rather than disappearing the moment people return to their desks.

Her approach is thoughtful, empathetic and precise. She asks the questions that uncover what is really going on, and builds the kind of psychological safety into the training that allows genuine learning to happen. Accredited through the Co-Active Training Institute with Level 5 CIPD and qualifications in resilience and wellbeing, Emily brings both the strategic perspective of a senior L&D professional and the coaching skill of a practitioner who has invested deeply in her own development.

Associate Trainer and Coach

Alex knows what it is like to be a high-performing leader who loses himself in the role. Having held senior leadership positions and experienced first-hand the burnout and disconnection that comes from leading under sustained pressure without the right support, he did not just recover. He retrained as a coach and has spent the last eight years helping leaders reconnect with who they are, so they can lead with the kind of clarity and presence that actually gets the best from the people around them.

His coaching is direct, warm and completely focused on the person in front of him. He holds ICF Professional Certified Coach credentials and brings a level of personal investment to every session that his clients notice immediately. Within UK Coach Training programmes, Alex works with leaders who need more than skills. They need to understand themselves differently before the skills can land.
