I wasn't sure that I wanted coaching as it felt a little scary but I was encouraged to give it a try by my manager. I knew that Kaidi and I would be a good fit from the first phonecall when I tentatively called to see if we would get on. She made me feel comfortable and I felt like she already understood me a little even from that short chat.

At the start of coaching, Kaidi got to know me better by asking lots about me (and setting helpful exercises to do at home) including finding out about my values and my dreams. She also found out some of the issues I was having such as people-pleasing and self-sabotage that were stopping me (and others) taking me seriously sometimes.

An example of one of the challenges Kaidi set me was to stop apologising to people (particularly at work and especially in emails) and I found this to be a revelation which had a surprising impact on my confidence and how I came across. It was a small change but it lead to bigger changes at work where I now feel that I can have real influence.

As Kaidi got to know me better, she understood that I had been neglecting my creative side and encouraged me to bring this out. I had been keeping back the creativity, thinking that it was self-indulgent and that I would never succeed anyway. She made me see that I could succeed if I set myself some realistic targets and that many people do achieve their dreams and why should I not give it my best shot?

I am really grateful to Kaidi for her encouragement and for helping me develop both at work and in my wider life. I am excited to keep in touch and let her know how I progress!
